Global War on Terrorism Memorial Monument

Outside the American Legion Post 35 in Hampton Falls stands the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Monument. This monument was first unveiled on September 11, 2006 and has since been updated with NH servicemen who have made the ultimate sacrifice every September 11. On September 11, 2009, over 200 attendees were present for the most recent unveiling of the monument with the names of eight more fallen soldiers, including Edmond’s. The ceremony began with a speech from American Legion Commander Ralph Fatello, followed by a speech from Governor John Lynch. Governor Lynch who reminded the crowd that “we must forever remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country”. As the ceremony ended, the names of the fallen soldiers were called out one by one, slowly and solemnly.
