As a member of the JROTC program, he was Commander of the drill teams, color guard, and Operations Squadron. The Rochester Institute of Technology offered a full three-year scholarship, but Edmond was determined to serve his country.
On June 13, 2009 our country suffered a great loss when Edmond was killed in action while in Iraq supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was deployed with the 797th EOD Company to Baghdad, Iraq for his second tour of duty with the United States Army. He provided EOD support to the 25th Infantry Division in multi-national division north where he bravely and selflessly eliminated IED’s (Improvised Explosive Devices).
We would like to thank the Salem Exchange Club for the $5,000 donation to the SSG Edmond Memorial Scholarship Fund. Your continued support over the years has allowed us to help students in the memory of Edmond. We greatly appreciate your generosity and the care you have for our community.
We are happy to announce we will be holding our Eleventh Annual Pasta Dinner Fundraiser in honor of Edmond on Friday, June 2nd from 5pm-8pm.
Dinner will be served from 5:30-7. Stachey’s Pizzeria has generously offered to donate the food again this year for the event. The Raffle winner drawings start at 7. There are many great prizes available in this year’s raffle provided by local businesses in the community. Join us for dinner, raffles and live music by David Lacroix. We look forward to seeing you at the event this year!
We would like to congratulate the 2022 SSG Edmond Lo Memorial Scholarship Recipients. This year we were able to award scholarships to three JROTC students and they are Katelyn Rochford, David Carmichael and Madison Andrews. Congratulations cadets!
